NON-TRAFFICKED, BUT VULNERABLE PEOPLE: 106,045, a 22% increase from last year, driven primarily by one partner who distributed large amounts of medical supplies and food to vulnerable people in Africa and the Middle East. Secondarily, growth occurred among partners in Asia who focus primarily on serving vulnerable children.
TRAFFICKED SURVIVORS: 6,124, a 64% decrease from last year. The pandemic caused trafficking to go underground and online, making victims less identifiable. Additionally, it prompted less travel, less moving around, disruption of legal systems, and less people who could access justice. This was especially felt in India, Nepal, and Thailand where survivor services were either halted or drastically reduced.
