Donnette Hermes joined the team at Unseen as Development Officer in November 2018. Hermes has an extensive leadership background in the nonprofit industry that includes 30 years of social service experience. She has a passion for serving individuals in need and she has made a career of helping others her entire life. From 2001 to 2003, Hermes was the President and CEO of the Chandler Arizona Chamber of Commerce and had the opportunity to go to the Czech Republic, where she lived for two years and started an International Women’s Group. Once back in the states, Hermes worked for Independent YMCA’s in North Dakota and Connecticut and served as the Senior Vice President of Operations for the Valley of the Sun YMCA with responsibility for nine of the seventeen branches. Following her YMCA career in Phoenix, she served as CEO of Cortney’s Place from 2011 to 2017, an organization for adults with disabilities located in Scottsdale Arizona. Hermes is a graduate of Jamestown College with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts & Business. She and her husband live in Phoenix and enjoy travel, hiking, racquetball, music and movies.
